Thapa's Kitchen, Indian Restaurant in Toronto
CHEF RAJU THAPA'S JOURNEY FROM NEPAL TO TORONTO
Long before Thapa’s Kitchen, Chef Raju Thapa left Pokhara, Nepal, determined to build a career in food. He began as a dishwasher and kitchen helper, advanced to line cook, and later became head chef at The Host in Toronto. In 2016, he opened Amma Roti House, taking his first step into restaurant ownership and developing a culinary voice of his own.
His Rochester restaurant, Rosie’s, marked the next chapter. Created in memory of his late niece, Roji, it reflects the family encouragement behind his decision to expand into the United States.
Now, at Thapa’s Kitchen, Raju brings that experience to a Nepalese and Indian restaurant in Toronto shaped by his family history and decades in professional kitchens.
